Micro Wedding Inspiration at Historic DeKalb Courthouse
Don’t you just love the crisp white backdrop of the DeKalb History Center for this gorgeous styled shoot? It created the perfect blank slate for Amanda Jewel Floral + Design to work her floral magic, and whisk us away to the modern of our dreams. Hannah Forsberg beautifully captures the straight lines of modern architecture with the pops of color, and we truly can’t get enough!
From the photographer, Hannah Forsberg: The Historic DeKalb Courthouse acts as the perfect architectural backdrop for an intimate, modern wedding, located in the heart of Atlanta. Amy Towers of A Dream Woven Events and Hannah Forsberg, the photographer were inspired by the venue’s beautiful lines and architecture, a gorgeous contrast to The South’s typical barn venue. Inspired by couples who often return to our beloved state for their weddings, our goal was to spur others to have unique design elements through showcasing traditional lines and their contrast with contemporary elements, textures, and slight pops of color.
Our Bride and Groom are well-traveled, young professionals who value the guest experience as much as the event’s beauty, wanting to incorporate elements of various cultures and sophistication throughout their entire wedding. For the ceremony vignette, we incorporated greenery and driftwood elements, designed by Amanda Jewel Floral + Design, while the center aisle was adorned with beautiful taper candles. For many couples, incorporating a lounge during cocktail hour is a necessity, and Mayker Events had beautiful, Scandinavian-inspired pieces that went along well with our Japanese-inspired Sake Bar. We had a gorgeous marble cake created by Gingerspice Bakery, which sat atop custom pieces from I Do Linens. Pieces from TableMade embellished our beautiful head table, which featured various fruits, greenery, and a beautiful centerpiece.
Our Bride was adorned in custom pieces created by Kendra Scott Jewelry, as well as a stunning gown from The Gown Collective, a bridal boutique in Atlanta. Margaret Snider, the hair and makeup artist, gave our Bride a gorgeous modern hairstyle featuring soft waves, and a bold, defined makeup look, along with her girls, who wore stunning Bridesmaids dresses from BHLDN. Our Groom wore a custom suit from The Modern Gent and said his vows which were written in hand-lettered calligraphy by Isidore and Augustine.
We can almost hear it now! The gorgeous echo of the strings playing your favorite song as you take a deep breath before walking down the aisle. We know this string trio from Luna Strings will create the perfect moment as you take your first step towards your one true love.
Is there a stretch and sniff option? This beautiful presentation from Sun In My Belly has us ready to run to the cocktail hour for some passed hor d’oeuvres. We also love that they incorporated the famous Georgia Peach!
Oh hello, gorgeous! This exquisite table setting by Amanda Jewel Floral + Design is full of soft colors and linens. The beautiful clear chairs from Mayker Events allow the textured floral to come to life and bring that pop of color.
Candles lining the aisle, and rustic floral against the modern marble backdrop makes for the dreamiest of wedding ceremonies. It’s the perfect way to bring a little bit of the outdoors inside.
