A Boho Mod Wedding At Home With Sunset Colored Blooms
Kate and Slavik’s boho mod wedding with woven rattan pendants and sunset colored blooms just might be the envy of every backyard wedding bride. Surrounded by their closest kin, they kicked off this new chapter of their lives with glamorous spirit, velvet mid-century decor and activities to engage all their guests. Being a florist herself, the bride knew exactly the floral vision she wanted to achieve. Cue asymmetrical shapes, textured grasses and candy color pops! (If you love her style, you’ll want to see more of the magic she creates on the daily over at Dolce Vita Wedding.) We love the way Kate and Slavik incorporated details from their travels to Bali, and we’re oh so glad they kept the rattan moments coming! From the tender first newlywed kiss to the midnight movie on the lawn, this gallery from Yuriy Reva will leave you breathless.
From the Bride, Kate: We planned a very small family wedding with only the closest 12 people . We started to organise our wedding party when there was the first wave of coronavirus and it was clear that all restaurants could be closed due to COVID-19 measures. That’s why we began to search private houses where we could arrange beautiful outdoor territory. We found perfect location – it was not far from the city, surrounded by forest and river – a Ukrainian landscape with fresh air. We wanted to make the decor very natural and fitting for that specific place. For me it was really important to accent natural beauty and not to destroy natural harmony.
That’s why I wanted to enhance objects already existing in the space, and the wooden stairs were the perfect match. So we selected those stairs as a core part of our wedding ceremony. In addition, stairs are very symbolical – they are a symbol that we can reach all our further aims and goals together!
For decor, we used 30 different flower varieties in yellow, orange, soft pink and purple colors. We used natural handmade decor from our breathtaking trip to Bali. I adore this island and respect people who live there and wanted to incorporate the energy of the decor which I bought in that place. We used Indonesian hand fans, lamp shades, candle holders and of course dry leafs in our wedding decoration .
I dreamt about a cozy family dinner with family stories from childhood , remembering the story of my first meeting with my husband, how he first met my family and how I got acquainted with my husband’s closest people. Everything was just perfect to me – the whole atmosphere was so warm and I tried to memorise each minute of that day. Thanks to the whole team, our wedding day will live in my heart my whole life.
