DIY Copper Wrap Vases

Don’t you love how copper instantly makes anything look nicer? Now that we shared day 1, day 2, day 3 and day 4, our last holiday DIY is copper wrap vases that don’t take longer than 30 minutes to whip up. Really! As you know, Fiskars is the place for cutting tools that does the job right, so you can thank them for this easy project. Better yet – much more affordable than wide copper pipes!

copper sheets (I used leftover from this copper cake topper wreath!)

cardboard tubes

Fiskars recently launched their DIY Tool line, which I was super excited about! It’s the perfect line of tools to keep in your craft closet. These are lightweight tools that are easy to use, and compact for easy storage.
I used their Precision Hand Saw for this project, which is not only able to cut through cardboard, but will also cut through wood, dowels and other thicker materials for more advanced DIY projects. It comes with a protective sheath that doubles as a ruler.
Since copper is a softer metal, the sheets will need some sort of backing, so these tubes were perfect for the job.
Roll a copper sheet around the tube to measure. I cut them to size using their newest snips, which is also a workhorse for projects like this! These snips are made of heavy-duty stainless steel blades made for cutting more challenging DIY materials such as cork, burlap and decorative metal sheets like this copper one we used!
I recommend using super glue or E600 instead of hot glue, which might leave a thick streak visible under the copper.

You can make these copper wrap vessels as utensil holders or pencil cups! Get yourself a Precision Hand Saw because you won’t believe how many uses it has!
