Honey Velvet Wedding Inspiration With A Fall Foliage Ceremony Arch

Fall Foliage Ceremony Arch Glen Manor House

We could linger in this honey velvet wedding inspiration from Ashley Brown forever. Accented by wild + unruly fall foliage ceremony arch in a beautiful array of burnt oranges, wheat, crimson and plum from the ever-talented floral designer Green Lion, the stone manor setting along the Northeastern Coast of the US became the kind of scene you read about in storybooks. It was none other than Alyssa Thomas Events behind the design concepts for this velveteen soiree taking cues from the venue’s own patina and architectural details, combined with the unspoiled nature that surrounds. If fall is your weakness, much like it is for us, scrolling on to view this gallery teeming with rattan furniture, sugar hellebore-topped cake and berry-adorned tables beneath a sage lattice pergola will be the best thing you do today… that is, until your next pumpkin spice latte run. And even then, we think this proves to be a pretty strong contender for best warm fuzzy prompter. Shall we?

From the Planner and Designer, Alyssa Thomas Events: Nestled on the riverfront near Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Glen Manor House creates an idyllic setting to inspire couples and their guests with its old world charm and beautiful stone architecture. Influenced by The Glen’s charming aesthetic and cozy atmosphere, this editorial shoot was designed with the client in mind who wants to create a welcoming, yet “wow-worthy” statement along every turn.

We allowed the venue, which in itself sets the foundation for a one of a kind, European-like atmosphere on US soil, be the muse to continually create moments that invite the couple, their families, & guests into a sense of adventure & awe. We wanted to work with an environmentally friendly floral designer, who could forage and use the iconic New England foliage into the design, inspiring both couples & their planners who will be looking to take all things into consideration for a destination event experience. Giving space for the environment and history of a space tells a story alongside the couple choosing to put their unique mark on the soil as well.

We arranged a waterfront ceremony, situated on a stone patio that overlooked the bay. New England is known for both their gorgeous seascapes & endless color amongst their trees in the fall. So, with a whimsical foliage arch with leaves foraged from the florist’s property nearby, we were able to infuse both land & sea into the setting for the most important part of the wedding day. Cocktail tables were placed in the manicured gardens on The Glen’s property, which was far enough removed from the ceremony location to have it’s own moment, and also providing a beautiful view of The Glen and it’s grand stature from afar.

We created an outdoor dining experience underneath the stone veranda that provided an intimate atmosphere bursting with warmth and beautiful ambiance through the warm, amber tones in the velvet linens, candles, and floral design. The color palette transformed the space, and the climbing foliage along the archways created an experience for any eye beholding it to trace the lines of intricate details built into the construction of the home that have been standing for now 100 years.

Our bride stunned in a Marchesa gown, detailed with flutter sleeves and a delicate train, and our groom complimented her attire with a classic, yet fashionable black tuxedo and suede Louboutins combination.
