Shimmering Metallics + Monochromatic Blooms For This Pittsburgh Bridal Bash
It was the Yayoi Kusama exhibition, “Infinity Mirrors” that inspired The Big Fake Wedding‘s most recent soiree – monochromatic florals in an ocean of icy blues. And we. are. loving it! Just wait til you see the bouquet perfectly composed of pampas grass, sun palms, ostrich feathers and quicksand roses courtesy of Aja Maria Floral! The epic Pittsburgh party took place at The Mattress Factory, which exuded modern art vibes all around thanks to its white brick interiors and contemporary architecture. We can’t wait for you to see how Pennsylvania creatives took the original vision and infused it with their own styles through floating lights, ombre cakes and neon signage to name a few details!
With live events on hold for the larger part of the year, this immersive bridal expo was welcomed with open (albeit socially distanced) arms. The health and safety measures taken made it possible to still host a real vow renewal ceremony, cocktail hour and dance party that makes The Big Fake Wedding so distinctively unique… and fun!
The bride’s off-the-shoulder gown with ethereal ruching was complemented by intricately beaded bridesmaid gowns with and modern, geometric feel. BHLDN couldn’t have chosen styles more fitting with the theme!
The bespoke confections from Alex Robba Cake are delicacies in every sense of the word. We love the way they exude sculptural art pieces themselves, embellished with hand-painted sugar flowers in ombre gradients, ruffled fondant ribbons and silver foil brushstrokes dripping in perfectly imperfect patterns.
ILLUME Lighting + Event Design designed the ceremony backdrop with romantically verdant greenery and glass hanging orbs that complemented the ambiance elegantly. Electric Violinist Steven Vance serenaded as guests enjoyed the prelude and processional with a giddy bride-to-be.
A few other details we can’t get enough of? The bubbly mobile bar from She’s all Tap, the decked out trolley ride from Molly’s Trolleys Pittsburgh and the deep teal invites with grid-like illustrations from Paper Reign! Though we could certainly go on and on… and on.
Be sure to glimpse the film from Ventura Media to see the party in action!
