From the bride: Everyone tells you that your wedding day will pass in a blink of an eye I didn’t believe it, but that was precisely the way it was. My now husband and I didn’t quite go the traditional route. We’ve already been a family for the past two years before our wedding as we got married with our two-year-old son which is why we opted to keep our wedding as small as possible, with just our closest friends and family members. We wanted to celebrate us and our journey with the people we love most in an intimate and special setting.
Our wedding day itself was perfectly imperfect and simply unforgettable. I was a bundle of nerves the weeks before the wedding. A lot of things had to be organized last minute, and the weather didn’t know what it wanted do, playing with nerves most cruelly right until our wedding. But on my wedding day, I woke up completely calm thinking I get to marry the love of my life today everything else doesn’t matter anymore.
What I will always remember most vividly about my wedding day is how my heart pounded while walking up to the orangery, towards my fiancee. Seeing his face, seeing the people I love most and just everything Tabea had created especially for us. It was simply breathtaking. The ceremony was all about us, the way we met, and our family. It was everything we had wanted and after saying I do my husband and I walked outside and at that moment it started to rain and we just didn’t care.
For dinner, we changed the location to the hotel, Küssnacht Sonne. The historic banqueting halls with the painted ceiling together with Tabea’s designs were just incredible. The evening didn’t quite go as planned as our son ended up joining the party in his pajamas, and I almost broke the chandelier while throwing my bouquet to all the single ladies out there, but it was fun and made it even more memorable. We laughed, danced and talked until the morning. When we went to bed, we knew it was all worth it, and we would do it all again in a heartbeat.
You know how much we love ruffles! We are head over heels for this gorgeous tiered wedding cake by Sisi Siewert with the cutest ombre ruffles we’ve ever seen!
