Il Mercato Microwedding With A Very Good Dog of Honor
File this Il Mercato microwedding under Fetes with Major New Orleans Charm! Rachel and Khary’s celebration was imbued with cultural nuances from the French inspired decor to the Second Line tradition post-ceremony. Brooke Casey Weddings brought all the enchanting details to life (even acting as Dog Whisperer at one point, as she directed the furry ring bearer who deserves all the good boi treats!). Billowing greenery mingled with cream, rust and cranberry blooms in the arrangements by Antigua Floral + Styling, and they were the dreamiest complement to the cinnamon velvet bridesmaid dresses and navy suits. Catherine Guidry created visual heirlooms which you’ll see below – a testament to the pure love + joy experienced by all on their special day. We hope you love this Il Mercato microwedding as much as we do!
Ummm, I think it’s safe to assume we’re all obsessed with her embroidered bridal cape, yes?
From the Bride, Rachel: We met in New Orleans in 2016. Khary took me back to the exact spot and proposed in 2018. It was only right we got married in New Orleans! We instantly fell in love with Il Mercato and knew it was perfect for our Big day. Through Covid we had to cut our list in half to 50 people but it was truly Magical and so Dreamy! Our 5 1/2 year old white Labrador retriever was our ring bearer and stole the show 🙂 My High school basketball coach who was previously a preacher was able to marry us and it was very special. New Orleans tradition is the second line band and we had the best time marching around the park right outside the venue with the entire wedding party. The groomsmen introduction song was the Sirius-Chicago Bulls opening where the DJ announced our names like a basketball lineup and it was AWESOME!
Rachel and Khary couldn’t be more adorable! From the bistro chairs to the abundance of candlelight, this Il Mercato microwedding is the definition of romance. And because I know what you’re thinking… here are more Dogs of Honor from real weddings that did a very good job indeed.
