Walla Walla Vineyard Wedding
Who can resist Italy and all of its beauty and glamour? We definitely can’t and it’s no surprise that Jamie and Chris couldn’t either. So when they were planning their nuptials, what better way to bring Italy to their wedding than a gorgeous vineyard fête? It’s full of epic views, stunning wedding design by Without A Hitch Weddings, lush greenery by Amoré Floral, great eats; and it was all captured through the lens of Ryan Flynn Photography. So simple and elegant, we easily fell in love with this wedding.
From the photographer, Ryan Flynn Photography: Jamie & Chris had a weekend long celebration with their closest family and friends in Walla Walla – Washington’s wine country, at Va Piano Winery. They wanted their guests to have an Italian-inspired experience of dining al fresco amongst the vineyards – which they pulled off masterfully. We were greeted by an amazing summer sunset for portraits, the guests danced the night away and sent the couple off with a sparkler exit. Jamie wore a beautiful Watters wedding dress that really fit the vibe of her elegant and relaxed day.
From the bride, Jamie: We love a great dinner party. A dinner in Italy even better. A dinner at a winery in Italy…AMAZING. Due to travel constraints we brought Italy to us and invited our friends and family to join us at a few of our favorite places in Walla Walla. We have been to so many incredible weddings- Aspen St regis, Seattle 4 seasons, 5 star golf courses- A private winery- focusing on good food, good wine, good music and great people just fits us.
Our wedding was romantic and personal. Champagne and Emerald Green. Two projects come to mind – My mom and I made the Limoncello wedding favors- each lemon squeezed, each mix for the 40 days and 40 nights- Chris had his part too- His IT skills came in handy with the labels- and of course the tastings. My mom and Chris’ Mom both added parts of their wedding dresses to my bouquet. It still hangs on our living room wall. My mom’s best friend for over 30 years, Kathy Milo, was our officiant as well.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Stick together – literally and figuratively. We spent from the ceremony on together and love having all the same experiences vs getting spread apart. Figuratively – weddings can be trying- make sure to do all things with love and realize on the day after the “wedding” your marriage is the most important journey.
First Dance: “The Way You Look Tonight,” Frank Sinatra
Dancing is a very special thing for my dad and I. I’ve always been bittersweet thinking on when he is no longer here and who I’ll dance with (not Chris’ fave activity). He knew how important this was to me and took dance lessons to twirl me around. Amazing.
