This Minimalist Tablescape Incorporates All 5 Senses
We place a lot of stock in meaningful details – after all, there’s no better way to elevate a celebration than incorporating the 5 senses. So when first saw this soft tablescape meant for an intimate gathering, we were compelled to share. A mix of honey, straw, taupe, oatmeal, mustard and bright yellows decorate the scene – bringing to light the richness of the textures on display. We’re confident that the warm details of this shoot will start your weekend on a high note!
Fine art photographer Kristen Kilpatrick has a reputation for capturing ambiance in all its glory! Here, we feel a sense of comfort (and dare we say, hygge) in the dim glow of candlelight, the flaky pie crust and oatmeal colored table linens we could wrap ourselves up in.
Kindle and Gather employs minimalist magic to create a gathering that still feels full. Welcoming, hospitable, relaxed… these are a few of the adjectives that come to mind in her designs, and the result is something innately beautiful and wholesome.

From the planner, Kali of Kindle and Gather: I find that I’m most inspired by small, intimate gatherings where friends come together to share a meal and tell stories. With that in mind, we created this Harvest Gathering Shoot full of warmth and hospitality. I knew I wanted to keep the design rather simple with the focal point being the stunning florals designed by Color Theory Collective. The golden tones used throughout her arrangement were the perfect compliment to the overall minimal aesthetic.
When designing a tablescape, I am a big fan of the “less is more” approach. I love to find one element that will be the statement piece and then hand-select the remaining components to bring the design together. Using various textures can add visual appeal, such as the linen menus provided by Paper Napkin Press. Even the tapas created by The Peached Tortilla contributed to the warm, welcoming feeling that makes you want to pull up a chair and pour a glass of wine! I couldn’t have asked for a better team of vendors to bring this vision to life.
