From the vendor team: Our inspiration for this destination shoot in Los Cabos, Mexico was twofold. Firstly, we wanted to illustrate that a wedding in Mexico need not be beach, Mexican or bohemian themed, but in actuality, could be beautiful, refined and romantic in the fine art traditional wedding style.

Being a beach ceremony, we wanted a look that could withstand sun and wind, stand out against the natural outdoor setting, while being modernly soft and romantic. We used lots of warm tones of pinks, peaches, lavender and dessert taupes mixed with white and sage, (and of course, pops of bright pink and gold). Sleek ghost chairs were brought in by Del Cabo Weddings to draw the attention of the viewer toward the ceremony arch and into the horizon towards the beautiful sunset.? The clear chairs also emphasized the ?green lawn of Querencia Beach Club.

Paulina of Cabo Cakery created a simple, refined wedding cake design that Phuong of Mibellarosa dressed up with a few beautiful blooms. The intent here was to create something that exuded simplicity and refinement instead of being too busy by adding a design. Kelly Doonan of Kelly Doonan Events and Dana Fernandez of Josh and Dana Fernandez Photography chose the deep mauve linen and brass candlesticks provided by Del Cabo Weddings to create cohesiveness with the reception tablescape.

The reception followed suit with a more modern hanging installation with beach vibes that would catch the colors of the sunset over centerpieces that are more fine art but has a looser, breezier feeling influenced by beach vibes and local beach foliage. Kelly of Kelly Doonan Events and Dana of Josh and Dana Fernandez Photography opted to utilize the existing structure at Querencia Beach Club for the reception part of the shoot. With beige and pink toned linens from La Tavola and elegant chairs provided by Del Cabo Weddings, the scene was set.

Mibellarosa created floral compotes with and hanging installation with beige lanterns from Del Cabo Weddings. The table was set with plates hand painted by Rachel from Half Moon Lettering in a fine art style that resembled the design on the invitation suite. The hand painted nature of the plates was an ode to the Mexican tradition of hand painted Otomi print plates. Underneath the hand painted plate, was a simple ceramic plate in a tone of blue with a simple gold metallic rim. The white and gold modern style flatware added a bit of modernity to keep the overall look from skewing too traditional. The reception look was completed with clear glassware and brass candlesticks provided by Del Cabo Weddings.

off the shoulder wedding dress with a gold floral bridal headpiece

The bride’s Monique Lhuillier gown on loan from Casa de Novia with its beautiful off the shoulder sleeves and delicate scallop-like lace detailing that mimicked beach waves was a wonderfully romantic addition to the overall look of the shoot. Although the dress had these “beach wedding” characteristics, it exuded refinement.

Our invitation suite by Rachel of Half Moon Lettering was inspired by a soft desert color palette and textures found in the various landscapes of Mexico. Imagine walking down the Cabo beach or exploring a desert landscape, collecting bits of coral, driftwood, or pebbles that invoke a subtle magic. Our tactile paper choices and hand-painted accents were carefully curated to artfully mimic this experience for guests opening their invitations, giving a glimpse at the fresh sophistication a Querencia Beach wedding will bring.

Playing off of the scalloping of the dress, we incorporated the scalloped Prada shoes, gave the bride soft beachy waves as well as incorporating a detailed headpiece by Erin Rhyne to bring it all together.
