Baby’s Breath Lovers Chic Wedding in Wine Country

You know how much we love baby’s breath because of all the amazing ways you can style it! So when we saw this gorgeous intimate wedding, in the heart of wine country, overflowing with this baby’s breath we just HAD to share it. Kelsey & Foster’s wedding, planned and designed by L’Relyea Events is pure elegance and full of thoughtful touches like calligraphed magnolia leaves at each guest’s place setting from her Aunt’s magnolia tree. The sentimental part of me just leaped for joy and cried a little at the same time! As if getting married in a winery like Chateau St Jean Winery could get any better, the talented Hewitt Photography captured the whole refined affair and our hearts are aflutter.

From the planner + designer: L’Relyea Events: Elsey wanted to create a romantic and elegant fete for her guests to enjoy. She envisioned poufs of babys-breath throughout the ceremony, and dinner; creamy linens to drape over tables, and a hint of gold for some elegance and calligraphed magnolia leaves for guests seating from her Aunt’s Magnolia tree. Kelsey knew of Fosters love for vintage sports cars and James Bond and surprised him with a specialty vintage sports rental car for Foster and his groomsmen to arrive in.

Guests were greeted with champagne in the formal gardens before taking their seats for the ceremony. Following the ceremony guests noshed on small bites and local wines in the Rose Garden while the family and bridal party took photos. Dinner was set on the great lawn with the Chateau as the stunning back drop, accompanied with tables draped in gold linens with baby breath garlands and flooded with candle light. The evening continued with dancing and desserts (including the mother of the brides family favorite, Milk Cake) before bidding a farewell to the Newlyweds

What inspired your wedding style?
From the bride: Our leading source of inspiration was the beauty and elegance of Chateau St. Jean. We didn’t overwhelm the space with decor and florals because the venue really did the work for us. We also drew a lot of inspiration from our relationship– our love of travel, old world grandeur, classic design and thoughtful nods to our families. Our guests’ experience and sharing our favorite place mattered so much!

How you planned your wedding
Choosing a location was easy– we travel to wine country often and couldn’t think of another place that would be more appropriate to tie the knot. Once the location was set, we toured and tasted our way through the valley (in the name of research!) until we found our dream team. We hired Lindsey Relyea during our first planning trip knowing that we would need a seasoned planner to guide our vision and execute our ideas while we were in Baltimore. We walked away from our meeting with her agreeing unanimously that she was the perfect person for us. We worked with east and west coast vendors and did our best to add thoughtful details wherever we could.

Favorite memories from your day
The moment Foster turned around as I walked down the aisle. I will never forget the deep gasp he let out and the way he locked eyes with mine. I will never forget how enjoyable the whole weekend was– spending three full days with friends and family from all over the world and getting the chance to share our favorite place with them. At one point in the evening, we stepped away back to our ceremony site and watched the party unfold on the chateau terrace. It was an intimate moment that allowed us to see our efforts at play and to celebrate our new union together. I also loved my step-son’s opening toast line: “I’ll keep this short, because I know that’s how the bride likes it.” My husband is 5’7″ and his son Gabriel loves bringing up the fact that he’s now taller than his dad! It had our guests in stitches.
