Intimate Sunflower Wedding at a Pennsylvania Family Estate

Intimate Sunflower Wedding at a Pennsylvania Family Estate

There’s a special place in our hearts for weddings at family estates and something to be said about the memories a home can hold. Like this colorful backyard wedding we shared not too long ago! Rebecca and John said “I do” amidst a canopy of beaming sunflowers and vintage-inspired details. Cue her floral-sequined gown harking back to the opulence of the Roaring 20’s. You’re sure gonna love their warm reception set up with a display of succulent favors and cake trio with fresh flower adornments.

From the photographer, Minh of du soleil photography: This wedding was full of unique details such as florals that dropped from the ceiling, a waist-high bridal bouquet, a luscious gourmet cheese table and an intimate ceremony setup on the deck looking over the mountains. The Bride, Rebecca, had her brother put on the wedding planner’s hat and asked him to host the wedding at their family’s private estate. Rebecca opted for an elegantly BHLDN dress with intricate beading and delicate sheer sleeves. She wanted to have a lot of flowers, and her brother delivered beyond expectations!

A 3-foot bridal bouquet and lush garlands over the reception banquet tables and Tuscan-style cross-back chairs from MCR Design Group were show stoppers that wowed all the guests. As the guests arrived, they were welcomed with a fine selection of gourmet cheeses that humored all the foodies with epicurean taste buds. A warmup with a maple bourbon old fashion cocktail was also gladly received. The highlight of the day, however, could not have been anything but the heartfelt and sentimental speeches that were given to the couple by their family and friends. Their reception was full of hearty laughs and happy tears, both of which showed the wonderful couple that Rebecca and John are.

From the Bride, Rebecca: We knew we wanted a smaller, more intimate wedding that would last an entire weekend (at least) to give us time to celebrate casually and formally with close friends and family. Originally we looked into a beautiful lodge in Lake Placid, NY, but it wasn’t perfect. Then we realized we could use our estate in Pennsylvania. It has the gorgeous lake and woods backdrop and allowed us to tailor everything exactly as we wanted. It is also the home that Adam and I grew up in as children and where we celebrate all holidays and birthdays even today. Getting ready and spending the weekend in the place I feel most comfortable was indescribable. We had recently lost our grandmother, and our mom passed 8 years prior. There are reminders of them all throughout the house which made it feel like we were honoring their memories and keeping them close.

  • Yes. I was at this wedding. It was as perfect as The pictures make it look. The flowers. The bride’s dress. The love and comradity. And of course the setting in the midst of this scenery, all came together to make this an absolutely unforgatable day.
