Oh be still my heart! This gorgeous wedding in California is stirring our affections all over again for jewel tones and we’re honestly shook by how much we love the design by Riley Loves Lulu. Set in a California winery, this al fresco wedding is working like a magic potion on our weekday blues. We may or may not have audibly squealed when we saw the cutest picture by Molly Gilholm Photography of Julia & Dane’s furry guest so brace yourselves as you scroll through this elegant affair.

From the bride, Julia: We love to be outside! We’re both born and raised in California, so being outside at the beach, in the mountains, or in wine country is important to us. Dane proposed when we were on a hike in the mountains, so if felt natural to have the wedding ceremony also outside, but in California wine country. We wanted a place that would be special for us for the rest of our lives, and we were so happy when we found the perfect outdoor venue in Geyserville.

We chose our wedding colors (navy, burgundy, and gold) based on the big bold cabernets that we love and the beautiful reds in the fall grapevines. We also love navy and gold (a play on maize and blue, the colors of our alma mater), which perfectly complemented the warm hues of the changing vines. Florals with diverse textures that matched our venue were a top priority for us since we love nature, and we were beyond thrilled with what our florist created.

The rest of the details fell into place with the help of Riley Loves Lulu. We wanted things simple, elegant, and memorable for us, hence the University of Michigan corn hole, coffee from our favorite shop in Charlottesville, VA, and our dog walking with Dane down the aisle! Our day was perfect thanks to the help of our amazing vendors, family, and friends, and we are continually humbled by the experience of getting married in such a beautiful place.
