Kadi and Aiden may not have expected to have a cozy backyard wedding at the bride’s childhood home when they first started planning their wedding, but they embraced this sentimental plan B with gusto! COVID-19 couldn’t stop them from starting this new chapter together, and they worked closely with their planner, Sara Elizabeth Weddings, to focus on the silver linings of a more intimate celebration: going above the status quo with personalized details, limitless opportunities for creativity and cherished moments of togetherness. From the photographer, Justine Wright Photography: Kadi and Aiden said “I Do” in a bold, backyard wedding outside the bride’s childhood home. The couple had initially planned on a large affair within a local venue, but their plans were modified after COVID-19 restrictions were put in place. With the help of their incredible planner, Sara Elizabeth Weddings, Kadi and Aiden were able to turn her parents’ backyard into an elegant and modern backdrop for their intimate nuptials. The ceremony took place on the deck, under an immaculate arbor of bright colored peonies and ranunculus. When it came time for dinner, guests were situated inside an airy tent where they were served a four-course meal on beautiful tablescapes completed with navy, velvet linens and sophisticated glassware. Signature drinks chosen by the bride and groom were served throughout the evening, and when dinner came to an end, the deck (initially used for the ceremony) was transformed into a dance floor where fireworks from the nearby country club could be viewed.

From the bride, Kadi: Despite the ups and downs of planning our wedding during COVID-19, the event turned out more beautiful than we had ever expected! I never thought the backyard of my childhood home could be transformed into an elegant wedding venue. I wanted clean and modern lines with pops of color and Sara Elizabeth Weddings delivered just that! I loved every single aspect of our wedding, perfectly captured by Justine Wright Photography.
