From Valorie Darling: Settled in a hillside in Santa Ynez, CA is a gorgeous villa and winery surrounded by picturesque views of the Pacific Ocean. Like the couples who inhabit it, elements of its structure come with a history, with its foundation built from imported limestone from a small village in France, and its wood beams and roof tiles reclaimed from a 19th-century lavender factory once owned by Queen Victoria. The Tuscan-inspired Sunstone Villa and Winery was a perfect setting for this love story, and we filled it with mementos and moments that true, deep love embodies: tough as leather, delicate as pressed flowers, and full of vibrancy.

While there are so many opportunities in life and various paths to take, we are often reminded of our power to choose our own adventure. Whether it’s following a map, taking the road less traveled, or a little of both, we create our own journey. We hoped to emulate this philosophy when creating this setting, so we juxtaposed the opulence of the villa with the sweet innocence of the farm life inhabited in its outskirts by adding a lamb, baby bunnies, and small chickens to enhance its warmth.
