Backyard Flower Aisle Wedding With A Canary and Lichen Palette
Aside from the canary and lichen palette (which let’s be real, is pretty impeccable), this backyard flower aisle wedding is filled with creative experience and design moments from Taylor Dawn that are tickling our fancy. This is one of the first times we’ve seen a bride have a styled backdrop for her getting ready photos, and I won’t lie… we’re obsessed with the idea. The portraits from Ben and Colleen have both a fun/playful and timeless/ethereal sense to them, which fittingly reflected the wedding day events to come! An English style garden featuring unique potters, grasses and blooms surrounded a winding aisle built just for this moment was one of the showpieces of the day. We knew we could expect good things once we saw Whitewolf Floral Design on the vendor team! Truly, it’s an honor to share Heather and Mark’s colorful backyard soiree with you, and we hope it brightens your day as much as it has ours!
From the Planner & Design, Taylor Dawn: Heather and Mark’s intimate wedding day was such a dream to design, plan, and bring to life. In one of our very first meetings, Heather told me that she fully trusted my team and our design process and that she simply desired to showcase a welcoming Fall day to her family to celebrate her marriage to Mark. We discussed her love for warm, sunny hues and began from there.
Not only were Heather and Mark’s warm, welcoming personalities on display through the wedding design, we were able to style the most striking details before the wedding day even began. Being a photographer herself, Heather supplied a backdrop for her getting ready portraits that truly make these images one of a kind.
Hosting the wedding ceremony on her family’s property was such a sweet, intimate touch by the bride and groom. Also, because it was her own property, this granted some design liberties we would otherwise not have been given. Working together, Adeline Mills of Whitewolf Floral, Heather, and myself dreamed up a garden ceremony planted by the bride and her family. Heather and her family planted rose bushes, trees, and even laid a custom brick path so that on wedding day, the bride and groom were surrounded by natural, organic flora. It was truly spectacular! After the intimate ceremony, the family made their way to a gorgeous sailcloth tent donned with organic, lush greenery for dinner and dancing. Upon entering the tent, guests were greeted with an Estate table filled with the most stunning florals atop a canary table runner and each place setting topped with a single pear. Bringing in both floral and fruit elements gave this wedding design its very own, cleverly unique, look and feel. Paired with rosy warm highboy tables, we truly captured the sunset under the folds of a tent.
I absolutely love that this wedding day shows that even with the smallest guest count, you can have even more flexibility to create an intentional design and feel for your day that guests will not soon forget.
Whimsical and fresh with brilliant summer colors, this flower aisle wedding in a cozy backyard has us walking on sunshine. Check out this at-home wedding with Father of the Bride vibes next!
