An Intimate Wedding in Washington with Fruity Accents in a Cloud of Red & Pink
This intimate winery wedding in Washington state, bursting with fruity accents, is downright dreamy. Awaiting the Name planned the party of the century with cloud-like floral installations of baby’s breath and used the couple’s favorite fruits as accents throughout the design. The photos from Ken Chen Fine Art Photography have officially swept us off our feet so grab a glass of pinot noir and and settle in for this gorgeous soirĂ©e.
From the planner, Awaiting the Name: We were the wedding designer and florist for Xiaoyi and Derek’s big day. It was an intimate wedding with close friends and family so we incorporated many details that the couples loved to make this wedding very personal.
Xiaoyi and Derek are fruit lovers so we see many fruit elements throughout the wedding, from mini pineapples in the bridal bouquet to peaches and pomegranates used as guest place cards. We even named four of the guest tables using fruit names (cherry, pomegranates, orange, pineapple) instead of numbering them.
Colors were another highlight of Xiaoyi and Derek’s wedding. We definitely went creative with the colors for their floral design. In the ceremony area, we used dried and preserved gypsophila spray-painted in the themed colors, paired with foraged smoke bush to built a hanging cloud with gradient color flows throughout. This idea flows to their sweetheart table. A cloud-like floral runner was made for the front lip of the sweetheart table on a dusty rose color velvet table cloth and blush silk runner. The whole set up was super dreamy yet made a bold statement about colors that the couple loved.
By the reception area, we created a fun corner by bringing a cool looking vintage photo bus and set up a dessert station next to it. The guests and the couple had a lot of fun there, taking photos inside the bus and with the bus! It was definitely a highlight!
We also hand-made all the taper candles so that they fit the wedding’s color palette perfectly. Xiaoyi and Derek said to us at the end of the day “We lowered our expectations by telling ourselves that no wedding can be perfect so that we can enjoy our big day without worrying about imperfection. However, we had such a perfect wedding and we loved every single detail of it and enjoyed every second of the day”.
We are drooling over all those juicy fruity accents at this intimate winery wedding in Washington state.
