Radiant Mammoth Lakes Microwedding Inspiration

When this Mammoth Lakes microwedding inspiration hit our inbox, it was love at first sight. From the mist-enshrouded meadows to the gently lapping waves, the natural beauty of this setting can only be described as radiant. We adore the way this team orchestrated each design element to complement the next – a seamless blend evidenced in everything from the blind embossed paper goods to the acrylic pedestals ceremony backdrop to the heavenly bridal fashion. Pro tip: Keep an eye out for how the cake echoes the bridal gown later on. The flourishing bouquet by Wild and Behold Florals is like handheld happiness, and we cannot imagine a better floral recipe for achieving an “ethereal mountains” look than this. We hope you delight in this blissfully picturesque interlude captured by Victoria Masai Photography as much as we did!

As a photographer, I’ve always drawn inspiration from Mammoth Lakes, Ca. It’s forever been my home away from home and I’ve been dying to shoot there for such a long time! With a wonderful team of amazing wedding vendors, we went for a fine art inspired shoot by a June lake with a gorgeous mountain backdrop of mammoth mountain. We drew our inspiration from outdoors and were going for a more lux, “ethereal in the wild.” look. I aimed to capture romance, intimacy, and love – lakeside, in the mountains with these photos as did our videographer for the shoot. Our color palette consisted of beautiful tones of pinks and mauves, which is not a color palette you normally see for mountain weddings.

For the floral color palette we went with beautiful shades of creams, beige, dusty rose, mauve, and a touch of wild greens, the perfect combo for romance in the mountains. The floral shapes were designed to be wild but exude much grace, which reminds us of what nature is about. Keeping our inspo to the backdrop – the wind, the rustling trees and the endless waves on the lake, we opted for florals with lots of movement in the bouquet and tablescape for a more refined look. With a mix of wild tree branches, butterfly ranunculus, tulips, nerines, garden roses and the ever so special cafee latte roses, we were able to achieve this stunning ethereal floral look in the mountains.

For the tux, we went with a timeless and classic black tux, which did not distract from the array of pinks and mauves. A polka dotted bow tie was all his tux needed to add a little character. It was the perfect fit from friar tux. For the dress, we went with no other than a Carol Hannah dress from her latest collection, the Misselthwaite gown. This stunner is a ball gown shaped dress that falls in layers gracefully to the floor and is adorned with beautiful rose gold metallic embroidery, intricate yet simple. The dainty beaded floral pattern which softly sprawls up the dress on the front and on the V of the back is absolutely stunning. Not to mention, the upper part of the dress and the intricate details are very much in line with the wedding cake. We paired the dress with the most gorgeous wedding shoes from Bella belle shoes.

Hand drawn, the intricate design on the cake is true craftsman ship. The cake is two tiered and its shape is reminiscent of our carol Hannah wedding dress with its graceful and elegant folds. You would never know, but the beautiful flowers that sit atop are completely made out of sugar. They are perfection and Sugarl kymiโ€™s cakes are true artistry.

For jewelry, we featured stunning and unique designs from hidden space jewelry. Adored for their salt and pepper diamonds and triangular and pointed shape, the gold wedding rings were the perfect touch to add to this ethereal wedding.

For paper goods, salt and paper co designed and made everything from the tables-cape cards to the invitation suite. The deckled edges, velum invitation overlay, the lux letter pressed florals and cream beige name tags for the table, stole the show. We love the addition of the map card, which can be used as a keepsake along with the rest of the paper goods, to remember all the details about your special day. These are what paper dreams are made of.

This is also for the covid brides this year, who’ve had to postpone their weddings, who are tired of waiting for their wedding and have just opted to do a small covid elopement or micro wedding instead. It’s a trend that does not seem to be going away anytime soon. It’s to showcase how beautiful they can make it by simply utilizing beauty of nature with lush florals, gorgeous paper good details, and of course, an ethereal ceremony backdrop along the lakeshore. In addition, the beauty of having an elopement/intimate wedding is that you’re able to freely move to another location for bride and groom romantic photos, which is exactly what we were able to do!

We also love the beauty and diversity of the couple involved in this shoot, which made it so special with everything that has gone on this year. This wedding shoot was held on an unexpectedly, extremely windy day, which made things more hectic, but we swooned at all the movement in these photos! It reminds us that life isn’t perfect nor expectant especially during these covid times, BUT the joy of marrying the love of your life cannot be taken away under any circumstances and what better way to marry than in the beautiful outdoors!
