Bridal Portraits During a Roman Sunrise

I fell madly in love with Rome the first time I visited, and this beautiful bridal shoot is reminding me why it was love at first sight. Lilly Red Creative, Camilla Cascino, and Christine Cater collaborated to create this heart-achingly lovely scene during a Roman sunrise with two wedding gowns we’re crushing on, hard. Thank you to this wonderful team!

From the photographer, Lilly Red Creative: Rome, the great beauty. Camilla, the wedding planner, has lived in Rome for the past 40 years. She is a true native and was inspired by the Italian film, the Great Beauty, that won the Oscar a several years ago. In the movie, Paolo Sorrentino tells of the most powerful essence of Rome, the beauty and the dark side of this town mixed together. This team was a collaboration of artists from all around the world and that mostly met for the first time only a few days before the photo shoot. A mix of California, Italy and Paris but all sharing the same vision and dream. To show to the world, the great beauty of Rome, not full of tourists but of a different time and place that we usually consider to be “Rome”.

And it’s with this that we started our bridal inspirational session. With a sunrise at the Fontana del Gianicolo and a white dress floating in the air and a priceless view of Rome waking up at sunrise. Inno, our beautiful Ghanese model from Paris, was able to become one with our vision. She felt the warmth and radiance of the sun, the vibrance of the city, and the incredible atmosphere of that morning. She was shining in the sun and we brought in some romance with beautiful red peonies to create a pop of colors. Our next stop was to the Museo della Civilta Romana, a construct of the war-torn years of fascist Italy under Mussolini. The dramatic and clean, white columns contrasted against the rose dress and pink tulip bouquet.

In the inspiration of the moment, Christine with her creativity, put together a bouquet made with fully in-bloom peonies and anemones and wrapped them with a gorgeous violet silk from Tono & Co. The dresses were handmade by a very talented Italian seamstress, Anna Fuca. She was able to create a white, timeless dress and a rose dress. The dresses were like flying creatures, that moved and played with the magic all around us to take on many silk shapes flowing with the morning wind. A beautiful touch was added by the unique jewelry designs of Co.Ro, who happen to be Architects from Rome, inspired by the historical environment to create new concepts. Thank you so much to the MUA and Hair Stylist that followed us from the first light of the morning until the end of the shoot to make sure that Inno was looking amazing as she really is. Definitely together we wanted to bring a touch of fashion inside this bridal inspiration. The wedding world is dreamy and we wanted to show to the world that the beauty inside of us can is made by the simple things.
