Tell us a little bit about you and what you do.
Aevum Photography: Half hipster, half geek, Aevum is a team of two like-minded artist/photographer/mac nerds who decided to join forces to bring a new angle to wedding photography. We believe in simplicity, honesty, natural light, coffee, and all things real. We think wedding photography is entering a new era, and we want to be a part of defining it.

What is your favorite tip for couples for being photographed on their wedding day?
Aevum Photography: It’s really hard to be yourself when there’s a giant camera lens in your face, and while we will sometimes literally hide in the bushes to help you forget, the best thing you can do is stare straight at that person you’re marrying and remember why this is the happiest day of your life. It only takes a fraction of a second to capture that real-life smile.

Any favorite photo spots for engagement sessions or must see sightings?
New Jersey is called the Garden State, but in the northeast region where we’re from, it doesn’t always live up to its name. Still, it’s possible to find some gems among the concrete. One place we love is the giant run-down Colgate clock in downtown Jersey City that lights up at night across from the Manhattan Skyline. Or the high grass and rolling hills of the Loantaka reservation. And for an awesome juxtaposition of urban grandeur and rural delight, we like to shoot at Liberty State park and the surrounding grounds.
